Data Protection Notice

Applicability

This data protection notice informs users about the type, the scope, and the purpose of gathering and using personal data by the provider responsible, namely Zahnarztpraxis Jason F. Harlan, Hauptstrasse 112, D - 68804 Altlußheim, info@zahnarztpraxis-harlan.de on this website.

The legal basis for data protection can be found in the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (TMG).

Access data/server log files

The provider (or its webspace provider) gathers data about every access to the website (known as server log files). This access data includes:
The name of the website called, the file, the date and time it was called, the volume of data transferred, a notification of successful request, the browser type and version, the user’s operating system, the referrer URL (the previously visited site), the IP address, and the requesting provider.
The provider uses the log files exclusively for statistical analyses for the purpose of operating, securing, and optimizing the website. However, the provider reserves the right to examine the log files retroactively, should there be firm suspicion of unlawful use.

Handling of personal data

Personal data is defined as information that enables a person to be identified, that is, particulars that can be traced back to an individual. This includes a person’s name, e-mail address, and telephone number. But data concerning a person’s preferences, hobbies, memberships, and websites visited is also understood as personal data.

The provider will only collect, use, or pass on personal information if this is legally permitted or the users have consented to the collection of the said data.

Making contact

When contacting the provider (for example, through the contact form or by e-mail), the user’s data is saved for the purpose of processing the request and answering any further questions that may arise.

Comments and postings

When users leave comments on the blog or make other posts, their IP address is stored. This is done for the safety of the provider, if someone posts illegal content (insults, banned political propaganda, and so on.) on the website. In this case, the provider himself or herself may be held responsible for the comment or post and therefore has a valid interest in the identity of the author.

Integration of services and content of third parties

It may happen that, within the scope of this online offering, third party content such as YouTube videos, map images provided by Google-Maps, RSS feeds, or graphics are integrated from other websites. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as “third-party providers”) can detect the user’s IP address, because without the IP address they could not send the content to the browser of the respective user. This means that the IP address is necessary to display such content. We make every effort only to use content from providers that use the IP address exclusively for the delivery of content, but we have no way of ensuring that third party providers will not store the IP address for other – for example, statistical – purposes. When we are aware of such a practice, we inform the users of our website.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that allow device-specific information to be stored on the user’s access device (PC, smartphone, or the like). They serve to improve the user-friendliness of websites, thereby being of benefit to users (for example, by storing login data). They also enable the collection and analysis of statistical data about website use for the purpose of improving the offering. Users can influence the use of cookies. Most browsers have an option for limiting or completely disabling cookies. However, users should be aware that a website’s use, and in particular the user experience, will be limited without cookies.
You can manage many online ad cookies from companies using the U.S. website http://www.aboutads.info/choices/  or the E.U. website http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices/ .

Revocation, changes, corrections, and updates

On request, the user has the right to receive information concerning the personal data stored about him or her free of charge. Furthermore, the user has the right to correct any incorrect data and to block and delete his or her personal data, unless this conflicts with a statutory obligation to preserve records.
